[IF]When did you first start listening to EDM?
[Fabian Campos] Hello, Ever since I was a young boy I have been around Electronica, my older siblings would come home after clubs and blast House & Dance Music and was so intrigued by the sound. It wasn't until the summer of 1999 about 11 years ago that I completely fell in love with EDM. I have been appreciating the music more day by day ever since.
[IF]What was your first event as a attendee?
[Fabian Campos] I was living in Mexico at the time, the school I was attending organized School Dances at various nightclubs in the city, I remember going to one of these shows where they had local DJs playing House and Trance, it was awesome the sounds were so fresh. It wasn't until a a few years later in 2005 when I attended my fist real event Loveparade SF 2005.
[IF]Who was your first favorite artist/group?
[Fabian Campos] There is so many awesome artist out there so I had a few favorites that still love and follow to this day. Mauro Picotto, Groove Armada, Daft Punk and Zombie Nation.
[IF]When did you first start producing?
[Fabian Campos] I started to produce in 2008, lol I would just open up the DAW's turn a few knobs, load up some plug ins but I didn't understand what I was doing or any of the terminology until 2010 when I started to get more serious about making music. My first release will be out on SK Yaris Records, it is a remix I did for a producer in Russia his name is Paul Begge, its called Be Afraid Of Pacman. Its going to be out in April, I am really excited about this.
[IF]When did you start DJing? How did you learn?
[Fabian Campos] After I attended Loveparade SF, I realized that I had a huge passion for EDM and then on I wanted to be the guy on the decks sharing the music I love with the world. After graduating high school in the Summer of 2005, I received my first pair of Numark TT-200's Turntables as a gift . I had a few friends at the time that showed me the basics about mixing and beat matching, but everything else I learned on my own.I practiced every day to develop my own style.
[IF]First setup and current set up(including comps, software,drum-pads, etc)
[Fabian Campos] My first setup was an old Windows PC and PCDJ lol with Fruity Loops Studio, I had no clue how to use any of this. I later had a pair of Direct Drive Numark TT-200s Turntables with a 2 channel Numark Mixer. A little bit down the road I bought a 4 channel Behringer Mixer that I still use now but 2 of the channels are blown. A few years later I upgraded to CD Decks, I had one Pioneer CDJ-100 and one CDJ-200.
My current setup consists of a Macbook Pro, Logic Pro, Ableton 8, Two M-Audio Bx5a Studio Monitors, an M-Audio 410 Firewire Soundcard, Midiman Oxygen Midi Keyboard, Wireless Mouse and Serato Scratch. Unfortunately I don't own any CDJ's or Turntables.
[IF]When was your first Gig/Performance?
[Fabian Campos] Well besides all the small house parties my first gig was an underground rave in Oakland called "Outside the box" in 2007. It was an awesome party, I played in the side room upstairs, I remember playing vinyl that night.
[IF]Who has been a major influence to your productions?
[Fabian Campos] This question always take time to think about, I get overwhelmed by how many names come up to mind all at once. There so many great artists that I love and that have influenced my sound from all around the Electronic Dance Music Spectrum. The sounds of Mauro Picotto, Carl Cox and Daft Punk influence me the most, while Influences from Alex Kenji, Boys Noize, Brodinski, DuckSauce, Fedde Le Grand, Harvard Bass, Jan Driver, Johnny Caos, Joris Voorn, Koen Groeneveld, Mark Broom, Mr. Ozio, Paul Begge, Riva Starr, Rubix, Thomas Bangalter and Umek also play a big role in the music I make today.
[IF]What are your future goals for performances and productions?
[Fabian Campos] My plan for productions is working on my sound as is currently not where I would want it to be, even though I still love the music I currently make. I want to write more complex music and overall release more music. Another goal is to promote and release music on the record label I started with my good friends Skander, Sohrab and Skollie called Take It To The Streets Records (T.I.T.T.S Records) . As far as performances I am excited for every show I play and I look forward into playing out of state and International shows very soon .
[IF]Do you collaborate with anyone? If so who?
[Fabian Campos] I am currently working on a few projects with Daniel & Austin Aka Realboy. Thats about it, but I am down to collab with anybody.
[IF]What is your Favorite or preferred performing equipment?(;Turntables(maker)/CDJ's/Drum-pads/Keyboards/Controllers)
[Fabian Campos] I love to play on CDJS preferably Pioneer CDJ 2000s, what a wonderful toy. Any pioneer mixer is good for me . Occasionally I will use Serato.
[IF]What is the biggest event you want to perform at?
[Fabian Campos] Oh man, I would love play any European Music Festival but in the US I would love to play at Ultra Music Festival or Electric Daisy Carnival.
